Don’t we all love to look back onto the prime time of our lives, when we didn’t have to bear consequences of our behaviors and did what first came into our minds. Those were the days when we were young and making a living to feed the family was the last thing we were expected to do. Nothing is comparable to the freedom of youth.

Now we are older and we tend to forget the bad memories in our teenage life. The troubles that puberty brings us, like acne, embarrassment related to opposite sex and being confused of what is right and what is wrong, loneliness and worries about how our friends think about us. It maybe a mere illusion that teenage life is remarkable. Bad things, like those below, did happen during our teenage time.

1) Spots. It has for sure crossed your mind how you would spend your night with a boy or girl you met at a weekend party. What was so disturbing was to wake up the day after and have them look at your face in bright daylight. Oops, the harsh reality says: looks do matter. Pimpled face is definitely not a turn-on, though the boy or girl of your dreams may as well be troubled by the same thing.

2) Growth Spurts. For some, growing means undergoing a painful process, as for others, they would rather have that pain than not grow at all. You were once so envious of people who were so much taller and stronger, but as you aged, you know life is fair. Those girls who had the ‘head start’ in development suffered most from stretch marks later on in their lives.

3) Parents. You swore to be a cool parent when you were younger, or at least appear to be less manipulating and more hip. Now that you are one, or maybe going to become one, you must admit that there are no exceptions. It’s easier said than done.

4) Cars. No surprise that Lamborghini is your dream car, you can go on to dream about that while you drive your shabby Ford. There is a slim chance that girls would look your way. They usually prefer older men with posh vehicles. Now, you can race the bus instead!

5) Sex. That’s what fills your mind and you go on and go about that with your friends. Though unfortunately, thinking and talking about it don’t get you what you want. Isn’t that always the case, no matter how old you are?

There is nothing wrong to long for our young times. But at the same time, remember that we are as young as we feel, said by an old saying. The only difference is that we are now more attractive with our experiences.
