1.Firstly you need to sand the piece of furniture down that you want to whitewash. This can be achieved simply by using a sanding block or an eclectic sander. 4.When you are happy with the look, give it a light sanding again to bring out the grain again and then seal the wood using clear satin polyurethane. Let it dry, rub it down a little with an abrasive cloth and repeat this process until you get the look you are after. Final step in this process is applying the last coat of paint.  This is the best part because now you will see everything come together.  So once again, apply and finish one surface wall at a time.  Be sure that the coat of paint has been evenly distributed.
