Tiki is a cultural phenomenon which started from the Central Polynesian culture and has now been accepted the world over. Tiki torches have been an object of great admiration and awe for the enthusiasts of tiki.  Tiki torch is made of two parts, the first one is the outer shell or tiki itself while the second part is the torch or the flame.

Originally the outer part was made of wood, but over the ages, with the developments of almost all the items, different materials were used for making it and these days you get them in metals like brass, copper and stainless steel. Well, metal based tiki torches will certainly last longer. So you can decide is bamboo tiki torch for you.

However, if you want to have a classic décor that nears originality, you should patronize those with bamboo as a shell. Apart from the charm associated with anything original, bamboo tiki torches are very affordable too.

The second part of a tiki torch is the flame. The flame will need something to have it burning by which I mean the fuel and also the burning element which is the wick. Paraffin oil is the fuel most often patronized for such torches. Paraffin oil is preferred as it is odorless and causes no harm. Other than Paraffin oil, one may use propane gas or natural gas as a fuel for the torch.

The use of gas as a fuel calls for having a tank of the required gas along with the necessary pipeline for transferring gas to the torch. The advantage of using gas as a fuel is that it enables a continuous burning of flame, but the flame lacks the charm of a natural oil based flame. They are often used as wedding tiki torches.

These torches can be conveniently be procured from a reputed hardware store or you may buy them online and as already mentioned keep in mind that tiki torches with bamboo shells are the most economical.

There is large variety for you to choose from. You have to choose either of a memory foam topper, latex topper, visco elastic and others. You have to decide what type you want first.. The average household freezer is a silent slave. It operates year in and year out, requiring nothing other than a constant supply of electricity. In time it may need to be replaced though.

Now we will talk about some things that you are better informed of, so you can make the best decision.

First, we will talk about the size. And it of course depends on what you need. Generally though, most people purchase too large a freezer. And the judgment is made on what they think will be, not what really is. Their reasoning is: We “might” need a larger one in case there “may be” a special at the grocery store on something. But the sad truth is that these freezers will end up being operated only half full.

Be aware that you have to spend all your food in the six weeks deadline. Foods stored longer than that can become dehydrated no matter how well wrapped. Nutritional value and the food taste will be worst as the moisture is leaving the food. Anything that is stored more then a month and a half is considered wasted .

For example, try to remember how many food or ice cream you wasted because crystals appeared. And the ice that is appearing inside the package is dehydration at work.

You electricity bill will be increased, although appliances like GE freezer are an efficient electric applliances.

More electricity is being spent with an upright freezers. This happend when doors get opened and all the cold air spills outside. It will have to be on more often in the future. Also today’s uprights are often frost free, which by their nature consume much more electricity. Since we don’t have to defrost it by ourselves, we have to pay more.

Chest freezers are more efficient consumers of electricity because the cold air lies inside even though the lid is lifted to access the contents. But chest freezers are manual and they need to defrosted at least once per year.

Since most freezers are relegated to the basement they are not an appliance that needs to look pretty. And many consumers do not think that they should have more features at all.
Most are simply regarded as large storage boxes where frozen foods are kept for later usage.

But there are more brands that offer a lot of options when it comes to chest freezers. Just go to the local store and you will find a freezers with built in alarms, frost free feature, push button controls, temperature display and quick freeze options.

When we are looking for a new freezer, we often think about which type should we buy for our needs. Lets talk about some things you should bear in mind. Be aware that the chest freezer takes a lot more space on the floor than the upright freezer, it can be twice as much space in some ocassions. You decisionwill surely be affected with this, if you are living in an apartment.

You shouldn’t stack your stuff on top of chest freezers because it is not a convenient thing to do. I know that you will quickly lose this habit, once you have to remove all those paint cans and forgoten laundry with several books from the top of your freezer because you suddenly remembered there is a good dinner for you inside.

On the plus side, a chest freezer generally costs less initially, usually is more energy efficient, and usually provides more actual freezer space for your dollar than uprights. But they can be a pain to search through when fully loaded. You won’t have any fun with a frustrating and muttering inducing quest for a frozen pizza. This happened to me several times, although I have marked every item with care. I had to shuffle through frozen beef roasts and peas with my fingers, while my feet wre in the air for more then one time. It’s one of the most brutal experiences appliance can give you. In freezer space no one can hear you scream. No one besides your dear family, who will observe the action from the distance and laugh themselves silly.

Upright freezers have several important advantages over chest freezers. I already said this, but you really will be able to fill them easier then chest freezers and you will find your items much easier. It won’t be necesarry for you to search for a lifetime through a freezer just because you need to find an item you bought last month. Plus, many uprights are available with auto defrost. Most chest freezers are manual defrost, and even though you only usually need to do it about once a year, defrosting one can be a tedious, hours-long task.

Whichever you decide for, make sure you take good care of it. A freezer can last for a long time if you do it right.
